When you increase the transfer rate of USB 2.0 predecessor, from 12 MBps to 480 MBps, USB 3.0 will increase it 10-fold to 4.8 GBps. In 2007, Intel has demonstrated SuperSpeed USB in the Intel Developer Forum.
Compatibility
USB 3.0 connector and cable is compatible with hardware designed for previous USB versions. Compatibility is located on a new USB connector Desai. USB 2.0 cable consists of four lanes. A pair of channels for data transfer in / out, one path to power, and one point for grounding. USB 3.0 adds five point new. These new paths lies parallel (parallel) with long lines. This means that you can distinguish between 2.0 to 3.0 cables just by looking at the end of the connector.
Power Transfer
USB 3.0 has a data transfer speed ten times the maximum limit of 480 Mbps USB 2.0. With this new speed, transfer 27GB HD-quality movies into the future of the media player it only takes 70 seconds. While the USB 2.0, to transfer the same sata, it took 15 minutes, even more.
Operating System Support
In the event SuperSpeed Developer Conference, November 2008, Microsoft announced that Windows 7 has support USB 3.0, may not directly release now, but at the next Service Pack and updates. Similarly, on Windows Vista, which most likely will support USB 3.0. Until recently, support for Windows XP SuperSpeed is still unknown.
Hopefully useful.
